*** MOD-MCFX_convolver 0.6.4 - By A.Farina and D.Stefani, Parma, Italy, May 2024 *** This is a fork of the original MCFX Convolver by Mathias Kronlachner, where we ported most of the GUI and performance improvements of the now-obsolete X-MCFX Convolver. This new version is compiled with the latest compiler both for Windows 10/11 and for Mac-OS, including support for Apple Silicon machines. The max number of channels has been extended to 256 (which requires to use Plogue Bidule as the only host program capable of such large channel number). Improvements over old X-MCFX: - OSC remote control restored - support of CONF files (deprecated, but still possible) - support of Mac M1 processor - faster performances for large matrices Improvements over latest MCFX 0.6.3 - the whole MCFX suite is compiled also as VST3 - MCFX Convolver stores the number of input channels in the WAV file - Master Gain control For optimal performances, use the version with "just enough" channels for your application; you can leave unused channels disconnected, but they still take some CPU load. As this modified MCFX Convolver 0.6.4 is functionally equivalent to our old X-volver plugin, you should refer to the following web page for examples on how to use a matrix convolver: http://www.angelofarina.it/X-volver.htm This web page provides a description of the now-obsolete X-MCFX Convolver: http://www.angelofarina.it/X-MCFX.htm A new web page describing this forked version of MCFX is planned, but not ready yet.
