**** Eigenmike 64 vs Zylia ZM1 *** This folder contains two audio-video recordings performed at casa del Suono, Parma, Italy on 23/05/2022 A group of people located in a circle around the microphones talk one after the other and clap hands. The recordings compare the signals captured by two spherical microphone arrays: 1) the new Eigenmike.64 from MH Acoustics, USA (64 ch) 2) the Zylia ZM1 from Zylia, Polland (19 ch) Both arrays were connected with a Macbook Pro mid-2022, having created an Aggregate Device of 64+20 channels The recordings of the two tracks (EM64 and Zylia) was done using the new beta version of Reaper (which supports devices and tracks up to 128 channels). The gain of the EM-64 was 0 dB - The gain of the Zylia was 10 dB Hence the FS value for both microphone systems was roughly 120 dB SPL The video was recorded with an Insta 360 One RS1 camera placed above the Zylia. The raw (A-format) recordings were converted to B-format (Ambix 3rd order, 16 ch) using the FIR filter matrices provided and the MCFX_Convolver64 VST plugin, with Plogue Bidule as host program. The B-format recordings have geen gain boosted by +30 dB in Adobe Audition CC 2023, using the Hard Limiter effect. The videos were muxed with the B-format audio tracks at different orders (1,2,3) using the FB360 Encoder program The resulting videos properly formatted for Youube (1st order), Facebook or Meta Quest 2 (2nd order) and Vive Cinema or VLC Mediaplayer (3rd order) have been stored in their proper folders For a quick comparison we also uploaded to Youtube the sequence of the 4 takes: https://youtu.be/TSCkYhdyFcQ Please report to Angelo Farina (farina@unipr.it) your evaluation of these comparative recordings.
