*** Info on DISIA version 2.5 *** DISIA is a suite of several software modules, including Citymap and Disiapyr. These programs are designed for simulation of the sound radiated by roads and railways, and compute the sound propagation in urban areas or in the countryside. They were developed under contract with the Italian Environment Ministry in 1995/96 For employing them, permission from the SIAR service of the Ministry is required. The package contains a detailed database of experimental noise emission data, obtained by a huge measurement campaign performed on Italian roads and railways. Hence, this is the only simulation system which takes explicitly into account the particular conditions of vehicles running on Italian roads, and provides accurate estimation of the noise in Italy. The package also allows for simulation of the propagation of the noise emitted by singular sources, as those present in industrial plants, or other noise sources such as machinery employed in construction sites, or HVAC equipment connected to buildings. DISIA is one of the few simulation systems which allows for outdoor/indoor interface: it is possible to analyze the outdoor propagation of noise coming from inside a building, or to evaluate the noise level caused by outdoors sources inside a building, taking into account the sound reduction index of the facades. The package contains interface to commonly-employed software packages, such as Autocad for describing the site geometry, and Surfer for plotting noise maps. In this directory You find the latest version of the package. The file is named: disia25.exe (released on 12/07/2008) This file is protected with a password, which is sent only to users which have right to use it. This means that the software is free for members of the Italian Environmental Ministry, and to functionaires belonging to ANPA (National Environment Protection Agency) and ARPA (Regional Environment Protection Agencies). Also the technical staff of other public administrations have right to access to this software: municipalities, provinces, regions, sanitary local unitities, universities, etc. If you are belonging to one of the above public administrations and you want to receive the password, please E-Mail the author at farina@unipr.it If you are a private consultant, then in general you DO NOT HAVE access to this software, so there is no reason for emailing the author, asking for a password. Manuale-Disia.pdf contains the manual for the above programs: it is in Italian, it is quite old (version 1.0) and it can be freely downloaded and read. Yoy can download also a ZIP file, called DISIAPYR-setup.exe, containing the setup for the program DPLAUNCH.exe. This program is already included in the main installer, but on some systems some OCX or DLL files seem to be missing, so this setup reinstall completely this module with all its dependencies. If DPLAUNCH works without troubles on your system, you do not need to download and install this...
